Who needs a front window

I got home from teaching today and the street noise was unusually loud. I finally went over to inspect things and it turns out the front window has popped out of its frame. The only thing holding it in place is a sheet of thin plastic that Graig put up a few months ago to try and cut down on the noise. For all I know the damned thing is going to slide out of the frame and crash onto the street. More likely though is that the plastic will give way and the window will smash into our living room. In the mean time the street noise is ... well ... right there.

A new place

That's right, we're jumping ship. Graig and I signed the lease on a nice little apartment over on Roncesvalles, near Bloor. It's not Parkdale, but it's a nice neighbourhood. We're now that much closer to some of our favorite shopping adventures (including Alternative Grounds, The Film Buff, The Gate, She Said Boom). Of course we're that much further away from some other favorites. The best part though, is that it will be cheaper than where we are now. AND we get a full backyard to take care of (and a full front yard, for that matter).

Counting Names

In an attempt to cut down on the waves of spam that I get I've closed my mail down so that only emmajane@ will receive mail. Last night I got in the range of 60 bounced messages from various spammy sources. The most common address that my spam comes to is heylady@emmajane.net. I get a few for sales, and a few for various other things, but that's the biggie.
