Brace yourself
I am covered in puffed sleeve goodness and I am loving it. Hey Anne Shirley: you were right. Puffier sleeves rock.
The puffs make me look like I'm wearing hocket pads or football equipment or something.
I am so overwhelmed by the cuteness that I don't even care. The buttons are tiny and pink and shiny and perfect. (I've also got some orange buttons to add to the green shirt.) This is my first time doing button holes on my new sewing machine. It has a little jig that you set the button into. Then you position the fabric, take your hands off the machine, press the foot to the floor and BOOM! You get a PERFECTLY sized button hole. It's pretty freakin' awesome.
I thought the fabric was by Amy Butler, but I'm not seeing the swatch for it on her site. The sewing pattern is New Look 6628...and appears to be out of print. It is not the same as Simplicity's New Look 6628. Although I've had the pattern for ages I can't imagine them reassigning a pattern number. Was there once a different pattern company that issued "New Look" patterns?
