Con Artist
These are my Con Socks. I finished them today while I was up at the world's best VW dealership getting my tires changed from winter to summer. These socks were started at NotACon and have also seen LugRadio Live USA, HICK Tech, Elizabeth May, and other adventures too. They're pointing at a bud of garlic that's just starting to peek out to the world.
This year at HICK Tech someone referred to me as a Con Artist for combining two of my favourite things... celebration and technology.
What's that? Oh yeah.. a shared birthday cake for Heather Champ (she celebrated her birthday on Tuesday) and myself (I celebrate mine today). As for the title of Con Artist. I sort of like it. HICK Tech was beautifully executed by everyone in attendance. My speakers were outstanding and I couldn't be more proud of how my community jumped into the fray and spent 11 hours stuffing their brains with information. In fact one delegate even emailed me to say she'd learned more from one of the speakers than she had in an entire semester of school. It takes a certain degree of artistry to pull off a "con" and I'm proud to now be known as a Con Artist. It's a title I'm going to wear with pride.
