Did You Write a Letter?

In doing some research for the blog post that I'm still writing I called the Sierra Club of Ontario and chatted with their Chapter Director, Dan McDermott. He's going to follow up with the national executive director. But in the mean time, here's sharing a little weirdness with you too.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for taking the time to talk to me today. As I mentioned I'm a citizen blogger living up in Owen Sound. Today I was trying to throw together a quick blog post about what's going on with Bruce Power and the steam generators.

Skip forward to the part that's relevant to you: On the Bruce Power site is a "Statement from Bruce Power regarding Sierra Club letter." http://www.brucepower.com/pagecontent.aspx?navuid=1211&dtuid=84239 (If they happen to take this down, I've got a PDF of the page and I've tipped the URL into archive.org which sometimes prompts their bots to archive the content.)

I'm trying to find the letter that BP is referring to. They haven't linked back to the source and it isn't issued as a media release on the SierraClub.org, SierraClub.ca or SierraClub.on.ca Web sites.

Indeed the only thing that Google is turning up is a letter dated back to 2001 http://www.sierraclub.ca/national/programs/atmosphere-energy/nuclear-free/reactors/bruce-licensing.html. Surely that's *not* what BP is responding to though? Or maybe this brief excerpt? http://www.sierraclub.ca/en/in-the-news/bruce-powers-plan-great-lakes-gives-owen-sounds-mayor-sinking-feeling

I'm confused. Did the Sierra Club write a letter? Or is Bruce Power responding to thin air?
regards,
emma

Do you know what Bruce Power is referring to? Please leave links in the comments.

UPDATE: John Bennett (Executive Director of Sierra Club Canada) did mail a letter to Michael Binder (President and CEO of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission). A copy was sent to Bruce Power. However, the letter was never posted on their site. It was sent to members as an Action Alert "template" for others to also send letters. Sierra Club staffer Robb is now posting the letter to the SC Web site so that we can read it too.
