And also in the Mass Debate

A slightly less professional version of myself in the Mass Debate at LugRadio Live USA (San Francisco). I'm sporting my completely destroyed voice in this presentation (it took me literally two weeks to recover). Mako had the right idea for this panel discussion. He was taking notes while other panelists were talking and always had something coherent to say. Nicely done!

I enjoyed being on the panel but I think I need to do a better job of explaining who I am. Everyone here knows that I wear about a billion different hats. So when it comes to distilling who I am, it's hard for people to figure it out...because I haven't figured it out yet. I'd like to think I'm a lot more than just representing women in open source. Please leave your feedback on how you think women should be introduced on a tech panel discussion... especially ones who've delivered a presentation on gender and technology as part of the same conference.

Please note: this isn't a slight against the moderator. He's a fantastic guy that helped me immensely in the preparation of my talk. It's a question of how we ought to present the essence of a person's conference topic to an audience that may not have heard the presentation. If it were a craft panel with one token male knitter that had talked about the Men’s Spring Knitting Retreat we'd have to brace ourselves against asking The Man to represent Men (while the scenario is ficticious the event does exist, and my understanding is that some of the credit goes to local knitter Ted).

Also: huge shouts out to Patti for getting me on the Craftzine blog again. You rock!!
