Interior Flat
Last night I "ran" up and got another can of paint. I went from one shinier than eggshell to "interior flat." I know you can't really tell in the photos, but I promise the walls are now beautiful and it's not just because there are now three coats of red on the walls. The red is just different now, and I love it.
Left is shiny -- right is "interior flat"
In other, craft-related news:
Two years ago Kim taught me how to crochet. A year ago we launched the community version CrochetMe and this year I taught my first crochet class. Last night the third and final night in the learn to crochet class at Riverside Yarns. There were five students who've gone from being stressed out by a foundation chain to being granny square experts (I had a brain-fried moment and couldn't understand the pattern and MY STUDENTS figured it out on their own while I sulked). It was amazing and I was so proud of them.
They also worked their way through shells and ripples. They brought in books from the library with questions about what the instructions meant for their favourite patterns. (And they talked about how the library has a three-book-per-category limit, and that Get Hooked Again is actually upstairs in the kids section, not downstairs in the craft section.) They learned how to read diagrams and written patterns. And none of them wanted the class to be over (we stayed almost half an hour late with all the questions). Some of the students started out as knitters, some had never knit, but tried to crochet in the 70s when ripple blankets were all the rage. All of them, however, left the final class as crocheters.

Emma,
Caught your profile in Grey Bruce WOMAN, and today posted on my blog about you and your profile.
You, my love, are a crochet rock star. (Amongst all the other sorts of rock star you also are.) (How's that for an awkward sentence?)
Yay for your new crocheters! I love ripple blankets, I have at least two on my projects waiting list :)
